Drying Time for Concrete Sealer
Silane/siloxane concrete sealers typically have a relatively quick drying time compared to other types of sealers like solvent-based sealers. Here are some general guidelines for the drying time of silane/siloxane concrete sealers:
Touch Dry: Silane/siloxane sealers typically dry to the touch within 1-3 hours after application. This means that the surface will no longer feel wet or tacky to the touch. After that duration of time, it’s okay to walk on, but be sure not to track dirt or contaminants onto the newly sealed concrete. Wait four to eight hours to drive on it for the same reason. Driving onto newly sealed concrete from the road brings all kinds of contaminants onto and potentially into the concrete, so waiting never hurts.
Cure Time: While the sealer may dry to the touch relatively quickly, it’s important to note that full curing and achieving maximum performance can take several days. The curing time can vary depending on factors such as temperature, humidity, and the thickness of the sealer application.
Full Resistance: Silane/siloxane sealers need sufficient time to penetrate the concrete and create a protective barrier. It may take around 24-48 hours for the sealer to fully cure and develop its maximum resistance to water, moisture, chemicals, and other contaminants.
